 Artist Carlos Bruscianelli and gallery owner Roy Saper at Carlos' studio in 2021 When you look at these paintings,
consider the fact that the artist painted a clear
glass pitcher that is so lifelike, that it looks
like a photograph!
Think about how one would paint a clear glass pitcher. You can feel the sense of heft and thickness of this pitcher and its polished top edge, yet it is a painting representing what we know from life. What is equally amazing is how the artist depicts the fruit with such a realistic sense of texture and life. Note the glistening light and glare, shadows, and distortions seen of the fruit behind the pitcher due to the effect of looking through the heavy glass. The spout of the pitcher is perfectly rendered displaying the artist's uncanny ability and control of the painting medium -- and subtlety of color and brushwork. Carlos Bruscianelli is a hyper-realist painter from Caracas, Venezuela. After studying civil engineering at the Central University of Venezuela, his artistic restlessness led him to take classes in realistic painting at the Museum Patrizia Rizzo.
Specializing in the techniques of oil on canvas and pastel chalk, Bruscianelli finally suspended his engineering studies in 2004 and devoted himself entirely to his painting. Bruscianelli says of his works, “At present, most of my works are composed of hyper-realistic still life. In them, I represent natural or man-made textures and elements including metal, wood, glass, marbles, fruits, paper, cardboard.”
In 2008, he first exhibited his work at Gallery Dimaca, followed by the recognized LPG Gallery in his hometown of Caracas. Saper Galleries is pleased to now introduce the hyper-realism of Carlos Bruscianelli to the United States and rest of the world!
